Though Majlis by GOSSIP, our CSR platform, we aspire to engage society by spreading awareness of, educating on and supporting various relevant social causes to our communities. Ultimately Majlis intends to educate our local communities on significant developmental matters while encouraging them to take action and make a difference.
The first Majlis was held on July 26th 2013 benefitting ‘The Big Heart Campaign for Syrian Refugee Children a charitable organization launched by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, UNHCR Eminent Advocate for Refugee Children and the wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, in partnership with Salam YaSeghar.
The second annual charitable MAJLIS took place on July 17th 2014 in collaboration with the UAE Red Crescent and raised funds to support Palestinian families in the Gaza Strip. The Emirates Red Crescent is a humanitarian organization that supports official authorities in times of peace and war. With H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi wife of the founder and the first president of UAE, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood as its honorary president.
On the 3rd of July 2015, GOSSIP hosted our 3rd annual CSR event “ Majlis by GOSSIP,” where we partnered with HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s charity Dubai Cares, and supported their “Adopt a School” initiative to build a school in Gaza. Through this initiative, Majlis and Dubai Cares collaborated to provide disadvantaged Palestinian children access to primary education. In true GOSSIP style, blending art, luxury, sweetness and our social conscience, have been able to provide the means for the full construction, operations and resources of the school, supporting and educating 150 children.
